Tamrose Gulf
The Tamrose Gulf is a tropical gulf that is bustling with adventurers and pirates. Inside the gulf is relatively safe, except for pirates and the occasional hurricane or monsoon. Besides the many diverse countries that border the gulf, many tropical islands reside inside the gulf as well. Outside of the Tamrose Gulf lies the Lyrian Sea, a very dangerous, and uncharted sea. The sea is said to be bad luck, and cursed. It is said to have islands that have treasure (that is sometimes cursed), ghost ships, and islands that disappear and reappear somewhere else. Most who sail the Lyrian Sea do not make it back.
Drovania
This country was founded on the ruins of a once great nation whose name was lost to history. The landscape is harsh, rocky, dry, and hot. Drovania has a large lack of laws, which has led to an influx of gladiatorial arenas, with people sold as slaves for the arenas. There is a very large gap between the rich and the poor. The rich live in wealthy cities, while the poor either work in mines, are sold into arenas, or are nomadic wanderers. The country is dotted with old ruins of cities and towns. While there isnt an official ruler of Drovania, it is considered an oligarchy. Whoever can pay for the largest army of mercenaries holds the power.
The Blackshield clan holds the most power, controlling the largest amount of land in Drovania. They hold the coast, allowing for trade.
The Madsong clan controls much of the northern inland section of Drovania. Because they are further up north, farming is possible, so much of the population herds sheep and other cattle. This clan is raided for gladiators often by the other clans because they are largely defenseless.
The Stonevale clan controls the southern inland section of Drovania. Because the soil is too dry to farm, and they have no coast access, they train and sell mercenaries. They either take enlistments, or capture people to force them to join.
Kirivere
This city is very wealthy, and has a large bazaar that encompasses much of the city. You can find almost anything to buy here. They also make a very distinct ship design, they make large wooden almost ark-like ships. They are very good at transporting goods because of the large size, but not so good at combat or speed.
Sufleche
This island city is primarily built upon the world's most famous gladiatorial arena. The best gladiators from Drovania are pit against each other, mostly to the death. Gladiators are often owned by rich people, who are then battled against other gladiators like pokemon. It is like a sport for the rich people of Drovania.
Uflaya
This city is inland, and controlled by the Stonevale clan. This city is extremely big and built like a fortress. This is where they train their mercenaries.
Greyholt
Greyholt is a small country that has a large focus on studying the abyss. They are heavily invested in magic that others would consider taboo. They often use magic to change or enhance living beings' bodies to represent creatures from the abyss, or they make life such as warforged or golems. The country is described as dull and gray, with most of the cities being stone and iron, and the fact that it is almost always cloudy and raining. Most citizens here are either farmers, or if they are richer they may be scientists or scientists apprentices. Greyholt has a Count as their leader, known as Count Sirius Wellington.
Albermere
This is the capital city of Greyholt. It is really the only major city in the country, the rest of the country is farmland. Albermere has a large castle belonging to the Count on top of a hill overlooking the city. Laboratories dot the city.
Yorksach Island
This is a rest stop island for ships, which makes it a prime target for pirates.
Trenshaw
Trenshaw used to belong to the native people, who are merfolk and triton, until Greyholt claimed it to use as an outpost. The city of trenshaw is more of a village, where the natives live in floating houses off the coast, and spear fish for food. They usually charge a fair price to fix any non major ship damage to people who pass by.
Shining Peninsula
The Shining Peninsula used to be part of Greyholt, but they split due to theological differences. The people of the Shining Peninsula rejected the magic the people of Greyholt studied, and broke off and became a holy land. The biggest temples to the Children rest in the Shining Peninsula. Most renowned paladins and clerics were trained here. They are ruled by the Archdeacon Reginald Zenonis. Dorland is the capital city, where the temple to the Shepherd lies. There's also a large olympic like stadium, where once every few years they hold massive contests to compete in honor of the Children. They accept people from everywhere to participate in duels against other participants, against beasts, races, and other sports.
Artalia
Artalia is a very rich prosperous nation, with large sweeping vineyards and castles. They have plenty of rich soil for farming, and they hold a strategious mountain within their borders that provides them with expensive minerals and gems. The country is a monarchy, with principles founded on knights and chivalry. The country is ruled by Queen Anette Anchoretti. The largest export of the city is wine and adventurers, and the country's naval might typically scares off pirates.
Fairkeep
This city is the biggest port city, and the most trafficked port city in the Tamrose Gulf. The Artalian navy is constantly on alert, due to the high number of pirates in the Tamrose Gulf. Fairkeep sells the most cutting edge ships, but at a steep price. It also has the fanciest and best taverns in all of the gulf.
Horshire
This city is mostly an outpost for adventurers or privateers. Those who want to sail the open seas without becoming a pirate join up with the Artalian navy to become privateers and chart some of the mystical Lyrian sea
Dumont
This is the capital city of Artalia, and perhaps the most beautiful city in the entire world. It has a sprawling castle where the queen lives, and many castles surround the outskirts of the city where nobles live. Many knights train scribes in this city.
La Cadena
La Cadena is a tropical rainforest island, which is rich in sugar and spices. It is also the perfect island to stop in between visiting any other country in the gulf, meaning many different ships dock at the port, making it a very busy and rich island. Many pirates hang around the capital city of Escollo, drinking in the tavern and overhearing merchants talk about their cargo. After nightfall, the pirates strike with the information they learned from careless merchants.
Free City of Blackrock
The Free City of Blackrock is a completely independent city that operates under the rule of no country. It lies just out of the Tamrose Gulf, so it was founded by pirates, so it could be a hotspot for Pirates to rest and join up with a crew or recruit crew members without having to worry about the law. There aren’t any leaders or any kind of police force, but if you act like a dick the other pirates won't hesitate to beat the shit out of any troublemakers or even outright kill them. Most people in Blackrock are seasoned pirates, and are very powerful. Not many people are actually born in Blackrock or permanently reside there, however those that do grow up in Blackrock are usually tough as nails.
Valla
To the north of the Lyrian Sea lies a small mountainous icy country named Valla. Full of nomadic people, they are barely ever seen in the Tamrose Gulf due to the fact that they would have to cross the Lyrian Sea, but those that do make it are fearsome warriors, and often pillage the outer ring islands. Their ships are usually tough and use harpoons as weaponry.
Humtague Desert
This desert used to be a once prosperous land, but during the age of the dragons it was destroyed and left a barren wasteland. Many dangerous ruins lie in the desert, and it almost rivals the Lyrian Sea in terms of risk of adventuring in. There is a large volcano that can be seen from the shore called the Great Valoo Volcano, said to be home to one of the last remaining dragons.
