Evocation Wizard

Evocation Savant

Starting at 2nd level when you take this subclass, you can add 1 evocation spell to your spellbook for free. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you may add another evocation spell to your spellbook for free.

Additionally, the time and gold it takes you to copy evocation spells into your spellbook is halved.

Potent Cantrip

Starting at 2nd level, your damaging cantrips affect even creatures that avoid the brunt of the effect. When a creature succeeds on a saving throw against your cantrip, the creature takes half the cantrip's damage (if any) but suffers no additional effect from the cantrip.

Sculpt Spells

At 6th level, When you cast a spell that forces other creatures to make a saving throw, you can protect some of those creatures from the spell's full force. You can choose a number of creatures equal to 1 + the spells level. The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell and have resistance to the damage of the spell. You can make the chosen creatures completely ignore the damage of the spell if you expend an extra spell slot equal to half the spell slot level of the original spell (rounded down).

Empowered Evocation

Beginning at 10th level, you can add your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) to one damage roll of any wizard spell that you cast.

Overchannel

Starting at 14th level, you can increase the power of your simpler spells. When you cast a wizard spell that deals damage, you can deal maximum damage with that spell.

If this is the first time you have used this ability since a long rest, and the spell was cast using a spell slot of 5th level or lower, you suffer no adverse effects. If either of those conditions are not met, then you take 2d12 necrotic damage for each level of the spell slot you used to cast the spell immediately after you cast it, and you gain one level of exhaustion. This damage cannot be reduced in any way, and if this damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you die.

Each time you take damage this way, the necrotic damage per spell level increases by 1d12.
