Chapter 6: Boons

Boons aren’t something you get to take normally, The DM will grant you them if the story calls for it.


Regular Boons


Boon of Combat Prowess

When you miss with a weapon attack, you can choose to hit instead. You can use this feature a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down per combat encounter.


Boon of Dimensional Travel

As an action, you can cast the Misty Step spell, without using a spell slot or any components. 


Boon of Fate

When you or another creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an ability check, an attack roll, or a saving throw, you can roll a d10 and apply the result as a bonus or penalty to the roll. You can use this feature once before you must take a short or long rest.


Boon of Fortitude

Your hit point maximum increases by 30.


Boon of High Magic

You gain one additional spell slot of a level equal to your highest level spell slot. This changes as you level up so you always have one more spell slot of your highest level spell slot.


Boon of Immortality

You stop aging. You are immune to any effect that would age you, and you can't die from old age. Additionally, you can revert your age back to a minimum of 18 (or the equivalent adult age for your species) when you take this boon.


Boon of Invincibility

When you take damage from any source, you can reduce that damage to 0. Once you use this boon, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.


Boon of Irresistible Offense

You can bypass the damage resistances and immunities of any creature.


Boon of Magic Resistance

You have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.


Boon of Peerless Aim

Before you make a weapon attack, you can choose to call your shot. If the attack hits, it is a critical hit. You can use this feature a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down before you must take a short or long rest.


Boon of Perfect Health

You are immune to all diseases and poisons, including poison damage and the poisoned condition, and you have advantage on Constitution saving throws. Additionally, you regain double the hit points from Hit Dice when taking a short rest.


Boon of Planar Travel

When you gain this boon, choose a plane of existence other than the Material Plane. You can now use an action to cast the Plane Shift spell (no spell slot or components required), targeting yourself only, and travel to the chosen plane, or from that plane back to the Material Plane. Once you use this boon, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.


Boon of Quick Casting

Choose one of your spells of 1st through 3rd level that has a casting time of 1 action. That spell's casting time is now 1 bonus action for you.


Boon of Recovery

You can use a bonus action to regain a number of hit points equal to half your hit point maximum. Once you use this boon, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.


Boon of Resilience

You have resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.


Boon of Skill Proficiency

You gain proficiency in all skills.


Boon of Speed

Your walking speed increases by 30 feet. In addition, you can use a bonus action to take the Dash or Disengage action.


Boon of Spell Mastery

Choose one 1st-level sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell that you can cast. You can now cast that spell at its lowest level without expending a spell slot.


Boon of Spell Recall

You no longer need to prepare spells, you have access to all of your known spells at all times.


Boon of the Fire Soul

You have immunity to fire damage. You can also cast Burning Hands (save DC 15) at will, without using a spell slot or any components.


Boon of the Night Spirit

While completely in an area of dim light or darkness, you can become invisible as an action. You remain invisible until you attack or harm another creature.


Boon of the Stormborn

You have immunity to lightning and thunder damage. You can also cast Thunderwave (save DC 15) at will, without using a spell slot or any components.


Boon of the Unfettered

You have advantage on ability checks made to resist being grappled. In addition, you can use an action to automatically escape a grapple or free yourself of restraints of any kind.


Boon of Truesight

You have truesight out to a range of 60 feet.


Boon of Undetectability

You gain a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks, and you can't be detected or targeted by divination magic, including scrying sensors.


Higher Boons


Boon of the Archmage

Your spell attacks critical hit range is increased by 1. In addition, if a creature rolls a 1 on a spell that requires a saving throw, they automatically fail and take double damage. 


Boon of Spell Proficiency

You can add your proficiency bonus to damage on your spells.


Boon of Achilles

Choose any three numbers below 10. Whenever a creature rolls that number on the die to hit you, it is a critical fail.


Boon of Artifact Affinity

Choose any magic item that you are attuned to, this now becomes part of yourself and no longer requires an attunement slot. This magic item can be summoned and dismissed at will, and can never be destroyed.


Boon of Blessed Touch

You gain access to the paladin Lay On Hands ability. When determining your healing pool, you use your total character level times 5. If you are already a paladin with access to Lay On Hands, your pool is doubled.


Boon of Bloodlust

When you take the attack action and make a weapon attack, you can spend 15 hit points to make an additional attack. You can make a number of additional attacks equal to your proficiency bonus per turn. 

This damage cannot be reduced in any way, and your hit point maximum decreases by the same amount of hit points you lost until the end of your next turn.


Boon of Desolate Strikes

You can cause all your attacks to automatically hit on your current turn, however your AC is reduced to 10 until the start of your next turn if it is higher, and cannot be increased in any way. You can use this feature a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down until you must take a long rest.


Boon of Destructive Touch

Your body radiates so much necrotic energy, that whenever you make a successful melee spell attack against a creature, they take an extra 3d10 necrotic damage. If a creature is grappling you, or you are grappling a creature, they take 3d10 necrotic damage at the start of your turns.


Boon of Giants Stature

As a bonus action, you can increase your size to gargantuan (20ft by 20ft). You can use a bonus action to transform yourself back. You can only increase your size a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus rounded down until you must take a long rest.


Boon of Elemental Void

You gain resistance to all cold, fire, acid, poison, lightning, and thunder damage, but all cold, fire, acid, poison, lightning, and thunder damage you deal is halved no matter what.


Boon of Expanded Knowledge

Choose a class that you are multiclassed into, but are not yet at 20 in. You can gain the classes' next 3 levels of abilities, however you do not get any extra hit points, spell slots, or proficiencies. You cannot exceed your highest class level.


Boon of Extra Feats

You can pick 3 feats to take right now. (cannot be used as ASI’s instead)


Boon of Legendary Strike

When you make a creature use a legendary save, you can make it instead roll with advantage instead of auto saving. This still consumes the legendary save. This can only be used once on a creature every 24 hours.


Boon of Mage Heal

You can heal yourself as a bonus action by spending spell slots. You heal for a number of d10’s equal to the level of the spell splot you expended + your proficiency bonus.


Boon of Multiclassing

When you choose this, you can pick one ability from a different subclass from your current class. You must meet the level requirements for this feature in the class for which you are taking it in.


Boon of Peerless Attributes

One ability score of your choice increases by 6 points.


Boon of Quick Heal

You can expend your hit dice during combat. When you do so, you can spend up to a number of hit dice equal to your proficiency bonus as a bonus action.
