Battle Master
Those who emulate the archetypal Battle Master employ martial techniques passed down through generations. To a Battle Master, combat is an academic field, sometimes including subjects beyond battle such as weaponsmithing and calligraphy. Not every fighter absorbs the lessons of history, theory, and artistry that are reflected in the Battle Master archetype, but those who do are well-rounded fighters of great skill and knowledge.
Maneuverist
At 3rd level when you take this subclass, you pick three of the maneuvers listed below. These count as your Battle Master Maneuvers. You learn the maneuvers, and your Battle Master Maneuvers do not count against your total number of maneuvers known. If you already know some of these maneuvers when you choose it as your Battle Master Maneuver, you can learn additional maneuvers so that you know the maximum amount of maneuvers you are allowed to know. You can only pick a Maneuver to be your Battle Master Maneuver if it is of a degree that you can use.
You pick one more Maneuver from the list to be a Battle Master Maneuver at 7th, 10th, and 15th.Â
Battle Master Maneuvers
1st Degree
Lunging Attack, Maneuvering Attack, Precision Attack, Exploit Footing, Striding Swings, Deflect Strike, Cleave, Double Team, Legion Stance
2nd Degree
Punishing Blow, Off Balancing Strike, Imposing Glare
Student of War
At 3rd level, whenever you use one of your Battle Master Maneuvers, the attack that triggers the maneuver (or your next attack if there isn't one) deals additional damage equal to your Superiority Die. Your Superiority die is a d6.
Know Your Enemy
Starting at 7th level, if one of your Battle Master Maneuvers requires an attack roll to hit, or if the Battle Master Maneuver has no effect if a creature succeeds on a saving throw, you do not spend Exertion Points if the attack misses or if the creature succeeds on their saving throw.
Improved Combat Superiority
At 10th level, your Superiority Dice turn into d8s. At 18th level, they turn into d10s.
Relentless Superiority
Starting at 15th level, you recover all of your Exertion Points on a short rest.
