House Dawnhammer
House Dawnhammer was a noble house, granted the status of nobility after Gavin Dawnhammer proved himself a valiant warrior during the Battle of the Behemoth. Dawnhammer Castle was constructed for him, and he was tasked with monitoring the Icy Mountains for any signs of a reawakening. Their house was gifted an adamantine sword decades after the passing of Gavin, named Demonsbane. It has been passed down, and is currently wielded by the single remaining member of House Dawnhammer, Janson.
Right after the War of the Fallen Angel, and House Kensley seized power, the Dawnhammers failed to swear their allegiance to the new king. Their house was stripped of any titles and lands, but when the king marched his army to take back the castle, he wasn’t prepared for the might of the Northern Rangers. The rangers lacked numbers, but they fought in ways never seen before. Since the Northern Rangers are skeletal, they could hide beneath the snow for days, not moving an inch, only to burst out from beneath their enemies feet, cutting them down before they even knew what happened. The king's men refused to fight the Dawnhammers, and before long he was forced to allow them to remain in their castle. The Dawnhammers are not technically a noble house anymore, but good luck trying to convince them that.
Davin Dawnhammer was the leader of House Dawnhammer until his disappearance in the Deep North while on an expedition with the Northern Rangers. He seems to have known his expedition would be deadly, as he gave Demonsbane to his son, Janson, before he departed. Davin was a no nonsense man that took his job as a Northern Ranger seriously. He knew that if the Behemoth broke free from its icy cage, the world would be in peril once again. The men of the Northern Rangers had a deep respect for him, and so do many of the noble families. Even though Davin and the Dawnhammers haven't been nobility for quite some time, they still see his role as a Northern Ranger as a very respectable and necessary position that requires a great deal of sacrifice.
Janson Dawnhammer has assumed leadership over House Dawnhammer since his fathers disappearance. He is trying his best to live up to his father legacy as a highly respectable man. Janson's mother is unknown, as Davin had him at a relatively young age. Janson now rules as heir to the Dawnhammer family and leads the Northern Rangers all by himself after suddenly being thrust into this position.
