House Forgeheart
House Forgeheart is distantly related to House Kragborn. The first member of house Forgeheart was the brother of the founder of House Kragborn. The Forgehearts took on the role of running the Adamantine Forge, while the Kragborns took over ruling the city. For a dwarf, running the Adamantine Forge is a much more coveted position than ruling the city of Castlemire. The Forgehearts never leave the city Castlemire, for fear that if something happened to them they would lose the art of forging adamantine weapons forever. Being dwarves, it isn’t much of an issue to be underground forging for their entire life.
Currently, the head of House Forgeheart is Fane Forgeheart, he has been running the forges since he became an adult at age 50, and is currently 300 years old. He and his daughter Fiona are the only ones that know the process of refining adamantine into a usable metal, a secret that is passed down through the Forgeheart family. Fane is a highly respected individual amongst the dwarves, perhaps even more respected than the actual dwarven king due to the dwarves interest in forging. Fane is perhaps the current best weapon smith in the entire world, and his craftsmanship is unmatched by any other.
Fiona Forgeheart is the eldest child of Fane, and the heir to House Forgeheart. She is currently 80 years old. She has been training with her father Fane for the past 20 years, learning the way of the Adamantine Forge. She is a highly skilled weapon smith, and highly respected like her father. She is said to have a great deal of potential, and with more time and practice, she may even surpass her father.
Runnlenn Forgeheart is the second and final child of Fane. As he is not the heir, he was not taught the process of forging adamantine weapons. Runnlenn has departed from his status as a noble and traveled to the Western Continent to join the Disciples in Iron, in the pursuit of better honing his forging and combat skills, all in the hopes of recovering lost adamantine relics that his ancestors have forged. Some nobles and citizens of Valtoria view Runnlenn's association with the Disciples in Iron as treason, as the Lord in Iron plans to invade Valtoria and conquer it, but Fane and Fiona are supportive of Runnlenn and his journey.
Fang Forgeheart is one of the most historically important members of the family, he was responsible for forging some of the highest quality adamantine weapons, and even made 3 full sets of adamantine plate armor. Making just one full plate armor set was unheard of, let alone 3. No Forgeheart has ever made another full plate armor set since. Fang lived from 1360 1e to 1705 1e. During his life, he crafted The Sacred Vow and (allegedly) Emberwing, two of the most legendary Adamantine swords.
