House Masterpool

House Masterpool is a noble house that rules over the city of Masterpool. Their house was founded shortly after the War of the Fallen Angel, they wanted to construct an academy to replace the Vallosian High Academy, realizing the importance of regaining the knowledge that was lost. Cort Masterpool was an eccentric and whimsical man, founding the Masterpool Academy as a place of research and teaching. Over the years, they have evolved the Masterpool Academy into a city, and were granted the title of nobility for their achievements in higher learning.

The members of House Masterpool are known for their intelligence and determination. They are highly respected scholars across the land. Not only do they focus on research of magic and advancement of society, but they also focus on the history of the land, archiving it and searching through history books to develop a comprehensive knowledge on the past. Some people see the members of House Masterpool as weird or eccentric, but they couldn't be more wrong.

The current leader of House Masterpool is Merlin Masterpool, a great scholar, perhaps the most intelligent man of the new era. He currently is the principal at the Masterpool Academy, leading his students in their research. He is working to try and recover the knowledge that was lost on magic, a noble endeavor. Some people mock him for his obsession with books and knowledge instead of something "useful" like combat, but they'll all see how useful the academy is someday. Merlin is a bald man with a long wispy white beard. He often wears robes of purple and yellow. Merlin is capable of casting magic, a rare and impressive feat.

The only child of Merlin Masterpool was Maxwell Masterpool. Due to Merlin living a very long time, the title of heir never passed down to Maxwell, and he died before he ever got to hold the title. Maxwell died while his two sons were very young, leaving them in the care of Merlin. The role of heir then passed to Maxwell's first born son, Miles. Maxwell had another child as well, named Malachai.

The firstborn son of House Masterpool is Miles Masterpool. He is also a scholar like his grandfather. Miles is currently abroad studying the Wild West and any ancient magic that might be within. Miles was at the Battle of Skullrise Pass, using his magic to help defeat the mighty dragon Eldrax. Miles is the first battlemage since the War of the Fallen Angel. Miles is a dashing young man with short snow white hair, wielding a spell book in one hand and a staff in the other.

Malachai Masterpool was the second born son of Maxwell, but has been disowned and is now an outlaw. Malachai was more interested in being a warrior than a scholar, and often argued with his father Merlin. He failed to recognize the importance of knowledge, and pursued frivolity such as sword fighting. Malachai wielded huge swords that would take two people of average strength to lift. Malachai ran away with his love Charlotte Cantell when they graduated Masterpool Academy. They lived together for a couple months on the run, before Charlotte decided to return to her family and marry Kellan Kensley, fulfilling her duty. In a fit of rage, Malachai killed her for her betrayal, and he has been on the run ever since.
