Whiterock

Whiterock is a city controlled by House Oakthorn, a family of skilled diplomats and negotiators, using their elven heritage to their advantage in establishing alliances and agreements with other noble houses. The family has a reputation for being charming and level-headed, able to keep calm and find a solution even in the most difficult political situations.

Whiterock is a bustling city that combines the ruggedness of the White Mountains with the tranquility of the sea. The city is built into the rock itself, with buildings carved into the mountainside and connected by a series of stairs and bridges. The streets are narrow and winding, and many of them lead up and down the mountain, with staircases and inclines making it easier for people to navigate. The architecture is a mix of elven and human styles, reflecting the unique heritage of House Oakthorn. The people of Whiterock are primarily fishermen and sailors, and the city is known for its fresh seafood and vibrant marketplaces.

The centerpiece of the city is the lake on top of the mountain, which provides a source of freshwater and fish for the people of Whiterock. The waterfall that cascades down from the lake creates a stunning sight as it empties into the sea, and is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.

In addition to fishing, there are also many shipbuilders and sailors in Whiterock. The city's location on the seaside makes it an ideal place for building and launching ships. The shipyards are located on the edge of the city, and are always busy with workers crafting new vessels and repairing old ones.

The citizens of Whiterock still worship the dead gods, often launching lanterns into the sea, lighting the way for the spirits of the dead gods who are lost at sea to find their way back home.

The sea north of Whiterock, in between Stormwind and Whiterock, is said to be cursed by the elves, due to an elven princess running away with the founder of House Oakthorn. Any human ship that sails those waters never returns.
