Adamantine Weapons
Adamantium is a rare ore found extremely deep beneath the earth, and possesses innate magical qualities. There is a method of refining it into a usable metal called adamantine, but only House Forgeheart knows how, and they guard this secret closely. Weapons and armor made from adamantine possess unique powers, being extremely sharp, accurate, perfect balance and weight, and sometimes even stronger magical abilities. The armor made from it, which is extremely difficult to do, with only three full sets ever being made, is extremely durable while also being very light and mobile. Adamantine weapons and armor have a light green hue to them.
Adamantine weapons take a very long time to make, and the ore is extremely hard to find. It takes close to a century for just one weapon to be made, making adamantine weapons the rarest kind of weapon, and the most expensive. The only people who have adamantine weapons are the noble houses, and they each pass one down to their heirs.
Adamantine weapons and armor are distinct in that the metal has a light green chrome hue. They are all slightly transparent like glass, and are very reflective. While the magical properties of each adamantine weapon varies, there are some properties that are shared between all adamantine weapons and armor.
Adamantine weapons can be summoned to their wielders hands in a matter of 6 seconds, no matter the distance or plane of existence between the wielder and the weapon. They are extremely accurate, incapable of critically missing, and have a far greater chance to hit than that of even the strongest non adamantine magical weapons. Adamantine weapons can also tear through non-living matter (except for other adamantine objects) as if it were butter.
Adamantine armor is stronger than that of even the best non adamantine magical armor, protecting the user greatly. Adamantine armor also protects the user from critical blows. The only thing that can pierce adamantine armor are the claws and fangs of dragons.
The extreme rarity and insane magical power of adamantine makes it ludicrously expensive to purchase, even the richest nobles cannot afford to order adamantine weapons and armor. Only a few of the major noble houses of Valtoria have been able to afford a single adamantine weapon to pass down to their heirs over centuries of saving up enough gold.
Emberwing
Emberwing is the most legendary adamantine sword, wielded by the epic dragon knight Sir Roberts. Emberwing was said to strike with the speed and force of a dragon. Emberwing is believed to be deep in the Godscar, still stuck in a chunk of iron. It is debated by scholars whether or not Fang Forgeheart created the sword or not, as Fang Forgeheart was not yet born when Sir Roberts wielded the blade. Fang Forgehearts last weapon that was completed very shortly before he died, and largely considered to be his masterpiece, went missing. Some scholars theorize that this weapon was Emberwing, and it traveled through time to come into possession of Sir Roberts. Regardless of the true origin of Emberwing, it is known that the blade of sword appears to be crafted from the egg shells of chromatic dragons, coated in a thin layer of adamantine. The blade is made from many different types of dragon egg shells, giving the blade a beautiful metallic polychromatic color.Â
Demonsbane
Demonsbane is the sword of House Dawnhammer. It was given to them as a gift from the Forgehearts after Gavin Dawnhammer played an instrumental role in the defeat of The Behemoth. The sword is said to light up when demons are in proximity to the sword, and it sears their flesh, causing extra damage to even the toughest of fiend.
Forgeheart
Forgeheart is the adamantine hammer of House Forgeheart. It was created by the first member of the house, Fodock Forgeheart. The hammer is more of a tool than a weapon, but if it came down to it, the hammer is still more than capable of being a weapon. The hammer is used to forge adamantine weapons and armor, as adamantine is highly durable and resistant to being bent and flattened by other materials other than itself. Forgeheart is said to be too heavy to pick up unless you are a dwarf.
Moon
Moon is the adamantine sword of House Falcon. It was originally crafted for a moon elven princess by the dwarves before the Great Eastern War, but when House Falcon conquered the region, they took the sword. The sword is said to glow more brightly with the phases of the moon, being the brightest during a full moon, and the most powerful. Moon is one of the only adamantine weapons not forged by the Forgehearts that haven't been lost to time. A very long time ago, before even the Great Eastern War, more dwarven cities existed besides Castlemire, each with their own adamantine forge. After a cavern with ancient evils was accidentally dug into, all of the other dwarven cities fell to ruin except for Castlemire. It is unknown who created Moon, but it was a gift from the dwarves to the elves, as the two races were great allies for many years.
Wayfinder
Wayfinder is the adamantine sword of House Haddock, given to them as a gift from House Vallos for their families part in the Great Eastern War. The sword is said to point towards the direction of what you're looking for if you let it float on water.
The Sacred Vow
The Sacred Vow is the sword of House Kensley, given to them by House Vallos for being their protectorate. The Sacred Vow is said to be able to shrink its blade or expand it, giving the wielder an advantage in battle. The Sacred Vow was one of the adamantine weapons forged by Fang Forgeheart, making it one of the most powerful weapons in all of Valtoria. Typically the sword is wielded by the king of Valtoria, and passed down from the king to their eldest child when they become of age to lead the Royal Knights.
Feythorn
Feythorn is the rapier of House Cantell. It is said to have the power to make plant life sprout and flourish.
Serpents Tooth
Serpents Tooth is the spear of House Salethar. It is said to have the power to instantly return to the wielders hand after being thrown and can be instantly summoned instead of having to wait the 6 seconds like other adamantine weapons. The Serpent's Tooth was originally part of a paired weapon set known as the Two Fangs of the Viper, with the other weapon being an adamantine rope dagger named Serpent's Strike, but the dagger has been missing for over one hundred years.
