Regions
The Eastern Continent
The Eastern Continent has been long civilized and inhabited for thousands of years. Originally the continent was dominated by elves, dwarves, and gnomes, but humans eventually conquered the continent from them. The entire Eastern Continent is unified as a single kingdom called Valtoria, united under one noble house. The kingdom of Valtoria is powerful, with it's roots going back thousands of years, persevering through many wars and struggles. The current king of Valtoria is Kenneth Kensley.
The Godscar is a region to the southwest of Valtoria that used to be the seat of Valtoria, but has since been destroyed in the War of the Fallen Angel. Demons still infest the area, and none have dared to try and reconquer the area.
The Dunelands
The Dunelands are a vast, arid region with a harsh, unforgiving climate. The landscape is dominated by expansive sand dunes, rocky outcroppings, and sparse vegetation such as cacti and scrub brush. The terrain can be treacherous and difficult to navigate, with sudden sandstorms and shifting sands making travel dangerous.
Despite the challenging conditions, the Dunelands have been home to human communities for thousands of years. The people of the region are known for their resilience and resourcefulness, and have developed unique ways of surviving in the harsh environment. Nomadic tribes of traders and merchants traverse the desert, bartering goods and sharing stories of their travels.
During the Great Eastern War, the Dunelands served as a strategic location for the human forces, serving as a home base for them. As a result, the region has a long and storied history, being the oldest human settled region. The current leader of the Dunelands region is House Salethar.
The Dunelands used to be inhabited even further south than Serpents Rest, but due to increasingly harsh sandstorms over the years, the area was abandoned. Ancient human ruins from thousands of years prior to even the Great Eastern War lie beneath the sands, with untold riches and artifacts.
Avarice is a city on the edge of society, founded by the mercenary group the Iron Falcons. The city exists outside the jurisdiction of the kingdom of Valtoria, and is one of drinking, gambling, and other vices.
Serpents Rest is a city built into a natural arch in a mountain, famous for its bazaar. The city is the oldest in all of Valtoria, and is ruled by House Salethar.
The Winterlands
The Winterlands are a harsh and unforgiving region located in the far north of Valtoria, ruled over by House Rolfe. As the name suggests, the area is perpetually covered in snow and ice, with freezing temperatures year-round. Despite these challenges, the Winterlands are home to resilient and proud people who have adapted to the harsh conditions.
Before the arrival of humans, the Winterlands were primarily inhabited by the moon elves, who constructed their stunning architecture out of an ice-like glass material. The moon elves left behind many ruins, some of which are believed to be buried beneath the snow. However, the majority of their structures were destroyed during the Great Eastern War.
The Winterlands were conquered by Bartholomew Falcon, who managed to do so without the aid of dragons. This was a remarkable feat, as dragons had played a key role in most other conquests on the continent. However, the conquest was not without bloodshed, and the Winterlands suffered great losses to the population of moon elves, who are all but believed to be extinct.
Despite the hardships, the people of the Winterlands take great pride in their resilience and determination. They are known for their fierce independence and loyalty to their own, often distrusting outsiders. The region is rich in resources, with forests full of valuable timber. However, due to the harsh climate and difficult terrain, trade is difficult and the region is often isolated from the rest of the continent.
The Winterlands were ravaged by the Falcon Rebellion, with it being common for a family to have lost at least one child to the war. The region is stricken with a lack of food, resources, and trust amongst themselves as a result of the war.
In recent years, the Winterlands have undergone significant changes with the rise of House Rolfe as the new leaders of the region. While some view them as traitors for siding with House Kensley during the Falcon Rebellion, others see them as a necessary ally in the turbulent times that have beset the region. The Winterlands remain a region of great beauty and resilience, with a storied past and an uncertain future.
Anfel is a city located in the Winterlands Valley, and it is a giant circular building built of iron painted red and blue. The middle of the city is open, and serves as a fighting pit for criminals to earn their freedom.
The Dragon Cathedral was built in the mountains after the end of the Great Eastern War to breed and train dragons. Currently, it is controlled by the Council of Dragons, and is forbidden for mortals to enter ever since the Dragon Uprising.
Dragons rest is the ruins of an ancient giant city carved into a massive ice wall, with colossal iron gates that protect the city.
Winterhollow is the largest city in the Winterlands, known for it's beautiful and unique moon elven architecture. The city is home of House Rolfe, the ruling family of the Winterlands.
The Deep North
The Deep North is a vast, barren wasteland that is uninhabitable for any form of life. The snow and ice cover the land so thickly that nothing can grow, and the winds that blow across the region are cold enough to freeze the flesh from one's bones in a matter of minutes. The terrain is treacherous, with crevasses, icy cliffs, and hidden chasms that can swallow travelers whole.
The magic that was used to seal the Behemoth away left its mark on the Deep North. The dark energies that emanate from the Behemoth's prison have infused the region, making it even more inhospitable and deadly. It is said that the winds that blow across the land carry the whispers of the Behemoth, a constant reminder of the danger that lurks beneath the ice.
The Behemoth is sealed away, trapped beneath the Icy Mountains, along with his army of demons that he invaded with. Sometimes demons are able to escape from the ice that encases them, and they slip out and roam The Deep North, but the Northern Rangers exist to stop them from getting into the kingdom.
Bleakwater
Bleakwater is a swampy region, with most of it only being traversable by boat. The region lacks any valuable resources, is hard to traverse, the weather is horrible, and the creatures that lurk within are dangerous. The only reason the land is inhabited is because the Haddock family wanted to settle it, but after a little over 2 centuries of finding nothing redeeming, the king pulled his support for the region.
The only way into Bleakwater is through the Valley of Faces. The Valley of Faces is a narrow, rocky passage that stretches for many miles, with faces carved into the walls of the valley. When the wind blows, it goes through the faces making screaming or ghastly moaning noises. The Valley was said to be carved by giants long ago, and is also said to be haunted. Regardless of whether any of those rumors are true, an ancient magic lingers in the valley, something still not fully understood by the scholars of Masterpool Academy.
Swamp creatures like trolls and witches roam Bleakwater. There also isn't much food to be found in Bleakwater besides what used to be shipped to Jackdaw from the king. The only edible fish in the swamps of Bleakwater is named the stinkfish, and it got its name for a reason. Since the shipments from the king have stopped, the residents of Bleakwater have created a new food source, troll bread. Troll bread is bread baked with troll blood in it. The troll blood makes the bread regenerate, although it makes the bread taste awful and soggy. It’s a very cheap way to feed yourself, although not the most pleasant. Most of the population of Bleakwater are fishermen, fishing stinkfish for food. The rest are either warriors to protect their village, or part of the Haddock’s army.
Bleakwater was a royal region controlled by House Haddock up until the Bleakwater Rebellion. King Kenneth Kensley stripped the house and region of its titles, making the area not technically a part of Valtoria anymore, and House Haddock not a noble family.
Jackdaw is the sole city of Bleakwater, and is hardly even a city. It is a castle surrounded by walls with a small village outside of it. Jackdaw is ruled by former nobles House Haddock.
The Golden Coast
The Golden Coast is the capital region of Valtoria, where the royal family, House Kensley, rules over all of Valtoria. Originally the area was a gift to House Kensley from the then rulers of Valtoria, House Vallos, and they turned it into a thriving region. The area is a warm. somewhat tropical region, with palm trees near the coast. The area has warm temperatures, and rarely feels the effects of winter. The region is famous for beautiful beaches with crystal clear water and golden sand, making it a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.
The Golden Coast has been a centerpiece of wealth, power, and knowledge for centuries, hosting one of the richest banks, the best academy, and the strategic seat of power of the kingdom. The people of the Golden Coast are known to be smart and tactical, mastering a trade until they are one of the best in the world at it.
Before the area was established by House Kensley, it was a popular place for pirates to hide out, given the access to the sea and the beauty of the region. When cities were developed in the region, the pirates moved further south, into the Tropic Chain.
Castlemire is a dwarven city that sprawls for miles underneath the Mountains of Plenty. The city is famous for the Adamantine Bank and the Adamantine weapons it produces.

The Roselands
The Roselands is the most prosperous and largest region in all of Valtoria. The area is home to large stretches of fertile farmland providing the entire kingdom with food. The people of the Roselands enjoy a mostly easy life, with plenty of food to go around and many opportunities in the cities in the Roselands. The region is controlled by House Cantell.
Before the humans conquered the Roselands, it was largely inhabited by the high elves. During the Great Eastern War, the Roselands were a primary target as it was one of the most valuable pieces of land. The high elves that inhabited the Roselands put up the most fight, stalling the war for many years until the humans found dragons.
Most people from the Roselands are farmers, traveling to Rosindale to sell their goods, but there are also many smaller towns and villages scattered throughout the Roselands. The Roselands is a beautiful and bountiful region, with most people describing it as a place out of a childrens story book,

Rosindale is a beautiful city known for its lush gardens, ornate architecture, bustling market places, and focus on the arts. The city is ruled by one of the most powerful houses in all of Valtoria, House Cantell.
The Wildwood
The Wildwood is a heavily forested region in between the Winterlands and the Roselands, controlled by House Fowler. The Wildwood isn't inhabited very densely, with only one major city in the region. The forests that surround the Wildwood are magical, crawling with spirits and other magical beasts. The Wildwood forest is thick, with tall trees blocking out most of the sunlight, keeping it dim even on the brightest of days. Many bandits camp out in the edges of the Wildwood, preying on the Roselands and the Winterlands.
While the Wildwoods may seem scary and dangerous, it also has a fairy tale aspect to it. Alongside the bandits and magical beasts, it is believed that benevolent creatures also roam the forest, such as fairies and the spirits of the dead gods. There's even a legend that a great pond of fairies presents itself to wounded travelers in their time of need when traveling through the forest.
The Wildwood was home to gnomes before the Great Eastern War, and they defended their land by knowing the forest better. They would lay traps and hide in trees to ambush the humans, for they didn't have the strength to fight them directly. The gnomes were defeated after the humans brought dragons and began to torch the forest with their breath attacks, and the gnomes all but disappeared, leaving the land to the humans. Nobody knows where they went.
The people of the Wildwood are adept survivalists, masters of hunting, trapping, and navigation. They have adapted to the forest, developing a respect and understanding of the dangers that lie within. The people of the Wildwood worship the dead gods, believing their spirits inhabit the forest. They leave offerings in the forest for them, constructing bird house like structures for their spirits to reside. The people believe that disturbing these houses bring bad luck upon those who desecrate them. When you pass by these structures, you're supposed to leave a coin in one of the houses.
Stonehaven is an old gnomish city, built of plain stone structures. It has large, dark stone walls covered in moss that surround the city. The city is a haven for those who love to hunt and explore the Wildwood. House Fowler resides in the city.
The Western Continent
The western continent is a vast, wild, and yet to be fully explored continent. No one governing body rules over the continent, instead many different city states exist. To the south resides dangerous jungles, to the west lies a desert nicknamed the "Wild West", and the coasts of the Western Continent are teeming with valuable metals. Humans are not native to the Western Continent, only arriving and settling some centuries after the War of the Fallen Angel. The natives of the Western Continent are the Yuan-Ti, a race of snake like people.
The Western Coast
The Western Coast is an area that was mapped out by Hunter Haddock thousands of years ago. While it was uninhabited when he explored it, it is now sparsely populated with some human cities. None of these cities are united together, all acting as free cities. The Western Coast is full of valuable ores, most notably rich platinum deposits.
Dravia is a rich port city on the coast of the Western Continent, known for it's immense wealth and powerful navy. It is the largest city in the Western Continent, and the unofficial capital. Dravia is of equal power to the entire kingdom of Valtoria.
The Golden Wilds
The Golden Wilds is the tropical rainforest that spans the lower part of the Western Continent. The jungle is teeming with life, exotic plants, and animals that can be found nowhere else in the world. The thick canopy retains moisture and creates a very humid environment on the forest floor. The jungle is also filled with rivers and waterfalls, giving it a unique and stunning landscape. It is called the Golden Wilds because of the legends of Hunter Haddock and the gold he found within it, but the native people call the jungle “Malatra”. The jungle is very large, and very dangerous. Most of the jungle remains unexplored.
The natives of the Golden Wilds are Yuan-Ti, a race of snake-like people. Some Yuan-Ti are almost indistinguishable from normal humans, while others look almost completely like snakes. They are rumored to be the descendants of an ancient decadent human empire, and they worshiped dark gods that taught them profane, cannibalistic rituals to mix their flesh with that of snakes. The Yuan-Ti were not well liked until the Battle of Skullrise Pass. They worked with the human cities on the Western Continent to develop firearms to kill the great black dragon Eldrax. Even now they are greeted with some suspicion, but the relations have improved.
One city exists in the Golden Wilds, and some scattered Yuan-Ti villages. Ancient ruins are rumored to be in the Golden Wilds, but not many people explore there, and the Yuan-Ti are secretive about what they discover.
A large volcano looms over the jungle, known as the Parrot's Head Volcano. Lava slowly trickles out into the sea from the volcano.
Xerxes is a massive city in the outskirts of the Golden Wilds, and is home to the Yuan-Ti. Xerxes is full of pyramid structures and natural architecture.
The Wild West
The Wild West is a relatively new region of the Western Continent, only becoming accessible when Eldrax was defeated in the Battle of Skullrise Pass 10 years ago. The Wild West is only accessible by going through Skullrise Pass because a large mountain range divides it from the rest of the continent. Before Eldrax was defeated, he would kill anyone that attempted to pass through into the Wild West.
The Wild West region is a vast desert, stretching to the west for an unknown distance, nobody has made it all the way to the westernmost coast of the continent yet. The area has barely even begun to be properly settled yet, with only one town officially established so far, and it's right outside Skullrise Pass.
People have been flocking to the Wild West, hearing stories about gold being found in the water, and trying to claim land for themselves. Many people have up and left their lives in the Western Continent to go and find a new start in the Wild West.
The region is a desert, but isn't an area full of sand dunes like The Dunelands in Valtoria. The area actually has plant life, such as tumbleweed, cacti, desert flowers, and some arid grass. The area has plenty of suitable farmland, which people are claiming for themselves since nobody technically owns it.
The culture of the Wild West is heavily influenced by the idea of freedom and self-reliance. People who come to the Wild West are often looking for a fresh start, and they tend to be independent and self-sufficient. There is a sense of adventure and excitement in the air, as people explore the untamed wilderness and try to make a name for themselves. Yuan-Ti and humans both come from all over to settle the region.
One of the defining features of Wild West culture is the prevalence of firearms. Guns are seen as a necessary tool for survival in the harsh and dangerous environment, and many people are skilled in their use. Gunfights and shootouts are not uncommon, and there is a general sense of lawlessness that comes with living in a frontier region. Guns were invented not long ago, for the purpose of defeating Eldrax.
Despite the lack of established law and order, there is still a sense of community in the Wild West. People often rely on each other for help and support, especially in the face of the many challenges that come with living in a desert environment. There is also a deep respect for individual rights and freedoms, which is a cornerstone of Wild West culture.
The Wild West is not a perfect paradise of freedom, however. Many dangers are being awoken as a result of the activity, with reports of demonic possession, undead, and witches in the region. Not only are there supernatural threats, but outlaws and bandits roam the Wild West, tasking advantage of the lawlessness of the land. The Wild West is a very dangerous area, full of opportunity for those brave enough to try.
Skullrise Pass
Skullrise Pass is the only entryway into the Wild West. It is a narrow valley that used to be inhabited by a colossal elder black dragon named Eldrax. He would kill anybody attempting to enter the Wild West, but he was wounded and forced to retreat deep into the Wild West during the Battle of Skullrise Pass. Eldrax has not been seen since, and the valley has been safe to pass through.
Frontier is a new city built just on the edge of the Wild West, right outside Skullrise Pass. It was built only 10 years ago, and has been booming ever since.
The Coral Keys
The Coral Keys are a group of idyllic, sun-kissed islands located in the vast open waters south of the Western and Eastern continents. The islands are renowned for their beauty, with crystal-clear waters, pristine beaches, and a thriving underwater ecosystem of coral reefs and exotic sea creatures. However, the Coral Keys are also home to a notorious pirate community, drawn to the area for its seclusion and abundance of hidden coves and inlets.
Despite the presence of the pirate community, the Coral Keys are home to many law abiding citizens, who make a living trading with the two continents for their sugar, fish, and tropical fruits. The islands are also a popular tourist destination for nobles and the rich. Many people dream of retiring to the Coral Keys, sipping cold drinks while lazing about on a beach. Many treasure hunters also set sail to the Coral Keys, looking for the legendary Pool of Endless Power.
Sunset island is a resort island, with many vacation homes for the rich and noble. Sunset Island is controlled by Valtoria, and is technically part of the Golden Coast region.
